The Hybrid HDD - mSATA SSD is a special one port SATA III PCI-e host controller combined with a mSATA (mini SATA) SSD slot. The controller can be configured to operate in either hybrid mode or standard mode. In Hybrid mode, the controller enhances the performance of any ordinary SATA hard drive by the faster speed of an mSATA SSD (Solid State Drive).

In standard mode, the connected mSATA SSD and the SATA hard drive can be set up to operate as two individual drives or combined to form a RAID 0 or RAID 1 group . The SATA port is port multiplier compatible and is SATA III compliant with maximum throughput up to 6Gbps.
