When connected via eSATA interface, drives contained inside the durable and heat resistant Ruby enclosures are capable of booting Operating Systems through a compatible eSATA port on a motherboard or add-in card. The shock absorption technology in the drive enclosure together with a rugged anodized housing also provides strong protection to the hard drive against drop and vibration.
